Skaters came from near and far for their opportunity to learn from two-time Olympic silver medallist, five-time world champion, and seven-time Canadian champion, Elvis Stojko. Elvis and Mexican figure skater, Gladys Orozco, taught a 6 hour seminar to figure skaters of all ages at the Brant Sports Complex.
The only thing more Canadian than exploring by paddle is exploring by paddle. The County of Brant is so fortunate to have not one but TWO paddling rivers through it, the Grand and the Nith. To embrace the culture behind paddling in Canada and the magnificence of the Grand, has launched the Canadian Canoe Culture Marketing Campaign.
The finalists have been named for the 2018 Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA) PRESTIGE Awards, which recognizes sport tourism events, organizations, volunteers and leaders in seven different categories. We are pleased to announce that the 2017 Ontario ParaSport Winter Games jointly hosted by the City of Brantford and County of Brant is a finalist in the category ‘Sport Event of the Year (Event Budget Less than $1M).
